This image was one of a group I created as concepts for Reebok to showcase the re-design and re-release of their Pump shoe from the 80's. The art director wanted to focus on the association of a pumping heart as a theme, so I was asked to create an image showing the air-bladder and a heart connected by veins. I shot a digital photo of a Reebok Pump shoe from the side, and then, based on a stock image of a human heart, I created veins by hand in Photoshop winding through the bladder shape, adding highlights and shadows to the veins to create a more photo-realistic effect. The design team then made comps with this image which were presented to the client.
