The art director wanted to take studio images of Eli Manning, quarterback for the NY Giants, and Chad Pennington, quarterback for the NY Jets, and composite them onto an image of New York City for an ad featuring Reebok NFL apparel. I took a supplied hi-res photo of New York City and made color-corrections including increasing the intensity of the sky and changing the buildings from 4-color to sepia tone. I restored the blurry cab from the original, after the art director felt that the sepia-version cab was not recognizable as a cab, and replaced the American flag with a 4-color version as well. I also replaced all visible ads on the buildings with Reebok logos and retouched out any dust or scratches. I silhouetted the two players and made any necessary retouching and color-correction changes, and then I composited them into the New York City image. I created two different versions for the design team, one for a single page layout and one for a 2-page spread layout. This Reebok NFL ad ran in major U.S. publications.
