The artist and I worked together to create album cover art based on his photo of a neon sign of his name. I requested images of the sign lit up and powered off, and these images became the front and back cover. I increased the saturation of both images and created a purple and red color theme for the album based off these images. The artist had an unusual request for the inside spread art. He wanted to create a split image of himself at his current age with an image of him as an elderly man. He provided me a photo of an older relative, and I used that as the basis to create a aged image by hand in Photoshop, using various compositing and painting techniques. For all other art areas besides the front and back cover, the artist wanted to use images from the free-use archives of the Metropolitan Museum of Art as a nod to his time spent growing up in NYC. I then presented font options and did all type and image layout for the LP gatefold, LP labels, LP inner sleeves, CD jewel case booklet, CD trayback and disc and prepared them all for print production, including making any necessary revisions requested by the album production company.
